BACKGROUND: THE AUTISM ADVANTAGE

The United Nations (UN) issued a Call to Action at the observance of UN World Autism Awareness Day in 2015, appealing to employers to make tangible commitments to offering employment opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum. The event, entitled “Employment: The Autism Advantage”, was organized by the UN Department of Global Communications and Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in cooperation with Specialisterne Foundation, and with the support of the UN Global Compact.
